Important Changes to Asthma Guidelines

In September, the BTS/SIGN ‘Guideline on the Management of Asthma’ introduced several new and important changes to guide clinicians and those who design and deliver services.

The 2016 edition of the guideline includes a complete revision of the diagnosis section, a major update to the pharmacological management of asthma section and updates to the sections on supported self-management, non-pharmacological management of asthma, acute asthma, difficult asthma, occupational asthma, and organisation and delivery of care.

These important changes have been made whilst taking into account the recommendations made in the ‘Why Asthma Still Kills: The National Review of Asthma Deaths. Confidential Enquiry Report’ (NRAD 2014).

Annie Barr Associates, in addition to their current Asthma/COPD course, have now developed a range of new asthma courses designed to meet the extensive asthma training needs of clinicians. They aim to provide current, guideline-based information which supports the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care to people with asthma.

Keep checking back to find out dates for our new Asthma courses!
